Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering Department Composition of the Chemical Industrial Engineering Faculty. Which was one of the most important and graduating departments of Kabul Polytechnic University.
The Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering and the Chemical industries plays a broadcast and backbone for the growth of the national economy of the country, based on the need of the day and the urgent necessity of the community.
And as well as the need for the technical staff, specialist and professional civil system for industrialization and economic growth has been established.
As we know the products and industries are urgent need for human society So the Engineers and specialists.
Engineering section of Petrochemical and Gas Industrial they play a clear and valuable role in the production of petrochemical and gas industries.
Students of the Chemical Industrial Engineering Faculty, such as other parts of the Kabul Polytechnic University.
University's subjects including basic and specific subjects in accordance with academic record. Which is trained with international criteria.
And also to promote the level of knowledge of educational and production practitioners. Or practical work in areas outside of the university, factories, labs in Kabul and provinces of the country.
In 2008, the Chemical Technology Department was promoted to the level of the University of Chemical Technology faculty.
Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering Department from 2008 to 2021 Graduate the number of (250) Engineers in the bachelor's degree. Ready to serve the community.
By 2019 this department was named or it was called Organic Substances Technology. But for full recognition of the section and matching the new age, Progress and Evolution of Technology. Members of the scientific staff of the Deputations of (Organic Substances Technology) are required to change the name of this department. So therefore since 2019, it was Organic Substances Technology in the name of the Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering changed of from that name to this name.
Teaching in the Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering using contemporary and effective methods for providing lecturers, practical lessons, laboratory work, seminars and scientific conferences, Professors and Students, Execution of guild work, Class projects and scientific and productive adaptations are taken.

Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering Department in addition to the general and fundamental subjects ,specific subjects of the petrochemical and Gas Industry Such as the subjects of the Oil & Gas Refining Industries, Synthesis of Petrochemical Technology, Fuel & Lubricants Quality Evaluation (Chematology), Calculation of Petroleum Fuel Production, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Conservation, Physical Methods In Organic Chemistry, Standardization, Polymeric industries, Petroleum Chemistry and its master program, Oil and Gas Pipeline design and transmission, Paint Production Technology, Chemical Engineering Software, Thermodynamics Analysis, Chemical operations, Mechanisms of chemical reactions of Organic Substances, Automatic guidance systems, Non-fossil fuel production technology, Surfactants production technology, Chemical materials analysis, Research Methods, Laboratory Equipment, Chemical apparatus Design, Catalyst and kinetic of chemical operation etc… are taught by the department of Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering.
The lecture notes were published as teaching books that still most of them are available at the main library of Kabul Polytechnic University.
The department of Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering from inception has had Afghans and foreign lecturers, and also in the past the curriculum of this department was up to master degree and the subjects were taught by the helps and supports of the professors from the former Soviet Union.
In 2021 created the master program In Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering Department which is taught by the professors.
Currently, the curriculum of the department of Petrochemical & Gas Industrial Engineering has been reviewed and is in compliance with the curriculum of the advanced countries and in agreement with the Afghan National Standard Authority (ANSA). Hence, the lessons are delivered according to credit-System in the form of lectures, practical and laboratorial works, calculations and graphs. Teaching materials, lecture notes and solution manuals are provided by the lecturers, and the text books relevant to published by professors.
