Job Description of the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Academic Vice-Chancellor performs the following duties in accordance with the official terms of reference:
- Developing academic and educational policies for faculty members to standardize teaching processes within the university.
- Guiding and supervising the academic plans and curricula of the university’s faculties.
- Providing guidance and oversight regarding the appointment, separation, professional growth, development, and academic promotion of faculty members.
- Monitoring and supervising the preparation of textbooks and instructional materials for faculties to ensure effective use by students in accordance with international standards.
- Formulating policies for postgraduate programs (Master’s and Doctorate) to enhance academic advancement and development.
- Conducting regular inspections of theoretical and practical teaching processes to ensure the proper implementation of academic plans across faculties.
- Guiding and supervising academic conferences conducted for faculty promotion and professional advancement.
- Managing university affairs in the absence of the Chancellor to ensure timely execution of responsibilities.
- Monitoring the implementation of the academic curriculum and assisting faculties in curriculum development.
- Handling matters related to the establishment of academic protocols with national and international institutions.
- Evaluating the performance of faculty deans at the end of academic year.
- Institutionalizing e-learning practices within the university.
- Leading and supervising the implementation of quality enhancement processes within the university and faculties.
