Job Description of the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Academic Vice-Chancellor performs the following duties in accordance with the official terms of reference:

  1. Developing academic and educational policies for faculty members to standardize teaching processes within the university.
  2. Guiding and supervising the academic plans and curricula of the university’s faculties.
  3. Providing guidance and oversight regarding the appointment, separation, professional growth, development, and academic promotion of faculty members.
  4. Monitoring and supervising the preparation of textbooks and instructional materials for faculties to ensure effective use by students in accordance with international standards.
  5. Formulating policies for postgraduate programs (Master’s and Doctorate) to enhance academic advancement and development.
  6. Conducting regular inspections of theoretical and practical teaching processes to ensure the proper implementation of academic plans across faculties.
  7. Guiding and supervising academic conferences conducted for faculty promotion and professional advancement.
  8. Managing university affairs in the absence of the Chancellor to ensure timely execution of responsibilities.
  9. Monitoring the implementation of the academic curriculum and assisting faculties in curriculum development.
  10. Handling matters related to the establishment of academic protocols with national and international institutions.
  11. Evaluating the performance of faculty deans at the end of academic year.
  12. Institutionalizing e-learning practices within the university.
  13. Leading and supervising the implementation of quality enhancement processes within the university and faculties.
