Future Plans of the Deputy of Financial and Administrative Affairs
The Deputy of Financial and Administrative Affairs, in order to improve services, enhance transparency, and increase efficiency in administrative and financial matters, will implement the following plans across different departments:
1. Publications Department
The main plans of this department are as follows:
- Equipping the printing press with modern printing machinery and equipment
- Generating revenue through the printing press to support the university’s internal budget
- Creating technical and professional positions
- Procuring modern publishing equipment
2. Human Resources Department
- Establishing a standardized database for managing and implementing administrative personnel affairs
- Implementing an electronic attendance system for all employees of Kabul Polytechnic University to ensure transparency and fairness
- Digitizing and entering all archived personnel records of faculty, staff, and service employees of Kabul Polytechnic University into the information system
3. Information Technology Department
- Developing the IT center to provide internet and technological services to university staff and students in accordance with national and international standards
- Expanding and upgrading wired and wireless computer networks
- Upgrading existing servers and establishing a central comprehensive server for data storage and management
- Installing a solar power system to provide stable electricity to laboratories and IT center equipment
- Standardizing computers and software according to a unified policy (Standardization Policy)
- Conducting workshops and awareness seminars on new technologies
- Improving internet quality and speed through technical and network management
4. Dormitory Department
- Constructing a standard kitchen building adjacent to the dormitory dining hall
- Providing 400 double-decker bunk beds for dormitory students
- Providing 1,000 sets of bedding items for dormitory students (including mattresses, pillows, blankets, and sheets)
- Providing and installing 180 room carpets for dormitory rooms
- Procuring office equipment for the Dormitory Department (computers, printers, office tables, and management chairs)
5. Procurement and Logistics Department
- Maintenance and Security Directorate: Implementation of 11 projects, including major renovation of restrooms, painting of university buildings, asphalt paving of all roads, rehabilitation of sidewalks, construction of the dormitory kitchen, and construction of a parking canopy.
- Goods and Supplies Section: Implementation of 18 projects including stationery, printer inks, cleaning materials, office supplies, IT equipment, installation of a solar power system, equipping the library, equipping printing machinery, procurement of diesel and petrol, lubricants, and vehicle repairs from the ordinary budget, with a total cost of AFN 244,856,830.
- Development Budget Section: Implementation of 14 projects including construction of the Grand Mosque, construction of academic buildings, development of laboratories, procurement of faculty laboratory equipment, and construction of depots, with a total budget of AFN 1,749,330,560.
6. Finance and Accounting Department
The Finance and Accounting Directorate intends to implement the following programs to enhance transparency and efficiency in financial affairs:
- Establishing an organized financial and administrative database to improve transparency and reporting
- Preparing and implementing a five-year ordinary and development budget in accordance with the university’s strategic plan to achieve institutional goals
- Electronically systematizing the revenue collection process to ensure convenience and transparency
- Scanning all archival documents from previous years and systematically storing them in the information system and relevant computers to ensure quick access, proper preservation, and effective handling of clients’ matters
Services, Maintenance, and Preservation Department – Future Plans
- Asphalt paving of all internal roads within the university
- Major renovation of restrooms in the academic building, IT laboratory, and the General Directorate
- Construction of the Sharif Mosque with a capacity of 2,000 people
- Completion of the partially built Computer Science faculty building
- Implementation of a filtration water purification project for all university buildings
- Construction of a parking canopy for vehicles
- Construction of a modern kitchen for the Dormitory Directorate
