• Introduction to Inorganic Substance s Department

The department of Inorganic Substance Industrial Engineering was established at the year (2009), in the Chemical Industrial Engineering faculty at Kabul Polytechnic University (KPU). Since establishment of this department till now (227) students are graduated at the level of bachelor degree in (2022) and (2023) 9th and 10th batch graduated from this department.
Department of ISIE has 5 academic staffs (lecturers) at the level of bachelor and master degree and 1 lab technician at the level of bachelor degree. Now in this department (179) students, (113) are male and (66) are female students, they are studying in different semesters during their education the students are doing internship at several industries to increase their education level practically.
The lecturers at the department of ISIE are teaching several core subjects such as Mineral Fertilizer Production Technology, Mineral Acids Production Technology, Silicate Technology, Nitrogen Related Technology, Analysis of Drinking Water, General Chemical Technology, Principles of Management and Inorganic Chemistry.
The students of this field are performing their internships at the Mazar-e-sharif fertilizer factories and Power Plant, Jarqodoq gas refining factory, Jabal-ul-seraj cement production factory, Ghori cement production factory and at the Serving and Geological authority of Ministry of Petroleum and Mine.
The education program of ISIE department consist nine semesters and the graduates of this department after completion of whole courses will have ability to work at different productive industries such as: Mazar-e-sharif fertilizer and Power Plant, Tile production factories, Ceramic production factories, Manufacture of ordinary glass and bulletproof glass, Cement factories, Plaster and lime products, Steel bar Factories, Factories for the production of steel and clay Factories of Hablex And continue to work as an engineer in the laboratories of the mentioned factories.
ISIE department has a laboratory of inorganic material analysis, which is equipped with (146) items of equipment’s devices and chemical materials. This laboratory was equipped in 2015 with the help of the European Union of the Slovak Technical University.

To upbringing of this field applicants with word criteria quality based on the need of society and market demand and also due to government strategies with professional education and expert at the level of national and regional.

• Vision

Creating a professional department to upbringing experts of this field at the national level with loyalty morale and promising of country interest. The graduates of ISIE department will be respond to national and regional market demands.

• Goals

Standardization and continuous modernization of work field of department and development of Inorganic Substance Industrial Engineering science based on the latest achievement of science and training of expert and experienced engineers due to needs of country, development of curriculum to national and international standards. The goals are content of bellow points:

1. Preparing expert human resource according to the need of country to process the extract natural raw material and covert them to final required product to development country economy.
2. Academic cooperation for application of country development plans with government and stakeholder’s organizations.
3. Qualitative and quantitative improvement of educational services for applicants due to national and international criteria.
4. Producing of knowledge.
5. Teaching and learning.
6. Usage of academic achievements practically and theoretically.
7. Cooperation and exchange of information all academic centers out of the university.
8. Research and investigation.
9. Development of department up to master’s program.
