  1. Introduction to the Directorate of Faculty Affairs

    The Directorate of Faculty Affairs is one of the key and fundamental departments under the Academic Vice-Chancellorship of Kabul Polytechnic University. It is primarily responsible for coordinating faculty-related affairs, managing staffing programs, and developing qualified academic personnel.

    The structure of the Directorate consists of the Directorate itself, the General Management of Faculty Affairs, and the Management of the Information Bank and Database. These units support the Director of Faculty Affairs in processing documents, maintaining faculty records, and performing other assigned responsibilities.

  3. Developing and implementing a working mechanism aimed at improving the quality of faculty members. 
  4.  Enhancing transparency in faculty recruitment processes in accordance with the regulations and directives issued by the Ministry of Higher Education. 
  5. Strengthening the professional capacity of faculty members through nomination and facilitation of Master’s and PhD scholarships. 
  6.  Expanding educational facilities for faculty members based on available institutional resources.
  7. Facilitating the recruitment and sustained professional support of faculty members holding postgraduate qualifications (Master’s and PhD degrees), thereby contributing to the enhancement of academic excellence within the university.
  8. Designing and implementing a strategic mechanism to promote and increase the quantity and quality of research publications by faculty members, in close coordination with the Directorate of Research Affairs and the university’s peer-reviewed scientific journal.
  9. Establishment of a comprehensive faculty database. 
  10. Ensuring transparency throughout the recruitment process of newly appointed academic staff. 
  11. Guaranteeing transparency in the procedures of academic promotions.

  15. The principal duties of the Directorate of Faculty Affairs are outlined as follows

  16. Evaluation of Academic Credentials: Assessing the academic documents of faculty members to identify and recruit qualified and competent academic personnel. 
  17. Information Provision: Supplying necessary information to members of recruitment, termination, and academic promotion committees to enhance their awareness and decision-making capacity.
  18. Oversight of Recruitment and Termination: Monitoring and supervising the processes of faculty recruitment and termination to ensure fairness, equity, and transparency.
  19. Follow-up on Committee Decisions: Tracking the implementation of committee resolutions and communicating outcomes to relevant authorities for subsequent legal and administrative action. 
  20. Management of Academic Promotions: Overseeing the execution of academic promotions and confirmation of academic ranks, and disseminating committee decisions to pertinent departments for necessary follow-up.
  21.  Professional Development: Facilitating the transfer of professional skills to subordinate staff through organizing workshops, seminars, and on-the-job training programs.
